ASL Alphabet Soup

Sign Language is not Universal, just like oral language, it varies from place to place. In Puerto Rico, Deaf people use many signs for words rather than fingerspelling them. We do share some words with the USA as well as the ASL alphabet.

Although it takes years and practice to learn sign language, knowing the alphabet is a good basic skill that can facilitate communication. The slide gallery includes the alphabet in ASL and a word search game (sopa de letras) with 7 words in english and spanish.
