Shellar García Arquitectura LLC is a small firm based in Puerto Rico, directed by husband and wife Shellar García and Alexander Cuesta. Together, they share interests such as urban design, public infrastructure, inclusive architectural design, rehabilitations, and historic preservation. They enjoy working on spaces with timeless designs that require low maintenance, and if in contact with the outdoors, highlight Puerto Rico’s tropical climate. Besides their practice, they both teach at the School of Architecture, University of Puerto Rico (EAUPR) and are involved in various local organizations such as Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico (CAAPPR), Fundación por la Arquitectura (FxA), and Docomomo Puerto Rico.
